How do you market your plumbing business?

We are always looking for new techniques to help plumbing businesses generate more revenue for small mom-and-pop shops and small businesses to stay afloat and at the same time make a healthy living for their family. 

Hi, my name is Dylan. I would like to propose to you a different way to market your plumbing business. A way that changes nothing about how you currently operate and helps you to build your customer base from your existing clients. 

I have a few questions for you. What percentage of your business comes from referrals?  Chances are the majority of your business comes from referrals.  Everyone’s always looking for good plumbers. And everyone feels like they are hard to find.

Now, what kind of system do you have in place to generate those referrals? Is it “Word of Mouth”? Do you send out flyers, send out emails, send out text messages? What do you do to ensure that your customers are bringing you new customers and creating a viral referral campaign?

Do you have an automated system that helps your customers send you a boil? What would it mean to your business if every satisfied customer you service, you facilitated an easy way for them to send you a referral? What would one extra customer be worth to your business? What would 20 to 30% more referrals mean for your business in one month? 

These are numbers that we see when we ask for a referral. Now, what if we incentivize our happy customers to send us a referral? If someone sends me a customer, I should pay them a commission. I should do something nice for them because on the other side of that cost per acquisition for a customer in today’s marketing landscape is not cheap.

What if your business had a system that would not only ask every customer for a referral but would incentives every customer to send you a referral. If Joe six-pack sends his brother to you for his next plumbing project, we should give him some sort of reward because after all, we want him to keep doing that and then we want his brother to do the same thing.

So, now all of a sudden once we have a system in place, we have two customers, each one of them brings a referral. Now, we have four and so on and so on. The system rows itself with the viral referral system.  What’s the system you might be asking this is what up said that there is.

How many of your customers find your business online? Chances are they find you through social proof which is review sites. Whether its yelp or Angie’s List, this is one of the most important marketing tools that you have 
as a small business. Your reputation speaks for you before your customer has even made contact with your business. 

What would it mean for you if you had a system that would grow your reputation and help you get more 5-star reviews? And allow you to contact the 1 or 2 or 3-star reviews and try to rectify any issue that might have occurred.

We know that this system alone, our 5-star review system, can grow your business in massive because when you employ a system like this and your competitors don’t, it means that you are leading the pack. 

What type of rewards and appreciation do you give your customers? Do you let them know that you care about how your service was? How your staff behaved on their property? If they kept their home clean? If they didn’t track mud in on the carpet? Do you know any of these things? Most fit plumbing businesses don’t have any food. 

What if you have a system that would not only get you referrals, not only get you one more review but also allow you to track the customer experience so that you could have a 360-degree view of your business from the eyes that matter most – your customers?
